Offers for import rebar to the US have continued trending steady amidst Section 232 uncertainty, although sources say some recently heard offers are now “in limbo.” In particular, import rebar offers from Brazil have been reported sporadically in recent months, and trader sources say they are expecting to get some “solid offers” after Brazil and the US reached an agreement to impose annual import tonnages in exchange for permanent exclusion from Section 232 tariffs.

Elsewhere, offers for imported rebar in the US domestic market from Italy are still heard around $38.00-$39.00 cwt. ($760-$780/nt or $838-$860/mt) DDP loaded truck at US Gulf ports.
