With most rebar buyers in the US continuing to rely on the domestic market for its supply needs, inquiries and bookings within the US import rebar market remains quiet. Sources say offers from Mexico and Algeria are unchanged week-on-week, and even though Turkish rebar offers have reduced somewhat since last week, sources say the price points are still too high to garner much interest. However, sources think other import rebar offers to the US will start to come down soon, which could spur more interest depending on if the US domestic rebar market stands firm.

As such, US import rebar offers are stable at $60.00-$61.00 cwt. ($1,323-$1,345/mt or $1,200-$1,220/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports from Algeria, and $58.00-$60.00 cwt. ($1,279-$1,323/mt or $1,160-$1,200/nt) DDP Houston from Mexico.
