US import rebar prices remain stable

Although demand in the US for rebar remains strong, import offers prices are stable again week-on-week, with indications that offers from Turkey might soon drift downward. In general, ex-Turkey rebar offers are down week-on-week, but importers in the US are reportedly reluctant to adjust their prices too soon, preferring a “wait and see” stance instead.

As such, US import rebar offers from Turkey are still in the range of $37.50-$39.50 cwt. ($827-$871/mt or $750-$770/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports. Meanwhile, offers from Mexico are also stable week-on-week, in the range of $37.00-$38.00 cwt. ($816-$838/mt or $740-$760/nt) DDP Houston.
