Demand for rebar in the US is still lagging as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, but sources tell SteelOrbis that they’re still on the lookout for attractive import offers. Offers from Turkey and Mexico have declined slightly week-on-week, although sources say they are more interested in Mexican product because of the quicker turnaround and delivery timeframes.

US import rebar offers from Turkey and Mexico are now at $29.00-$30.00 cwt. ($639-$661/mt or $580-$600/nt) DDP loaded truck at US Gulf ports and DDP Houston, respectively, reflecting a $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) in the last week.
