Over the past week, demand for Turkish wire rod in the export markets has increased slightly, though it still lacks strength. Meanwhile, Turkish wire rod producers have maintained their export prices unchanged week on week at $490-500/mt FOB. According to market sources, Turkish wire rod producers have mostly concluded deals to Africa and they have failed to receive demand from Europe since the quota for wire rod imports determined by the European Commission has been exhausted. Also, given the 50 percent duty in the US on imported steel from Turkey, no Turkish wire rod deals have been concluded in the US.
