During the past week, Turkish producers’ wire rod export offers have remained stable at $505-515/mt FOB.

After the sales concluded by a Turkish steel mill to Tunisia and Morocco for 8,000 mt and 7,000 mt of mesh grade wire rod at $510/mt FOB and $505/mt FOB, respectively, for shipment at the beginning of August, negotiations for new Turkish wire rod sales to North Africa have been continuing.

On the other hand, SteelOrbis has been informed that Turkish steelmakers have offered wire rod to Israel at $535-540/mt CIF LO, for August shipment, but buyers’ firm bids are at $520-525/mt CIF LO.

Meanwhile, as of July 11, Turkey has already used 178,946 mt of its 312,081 mt EU wire rod quota for the new quota period which started on July 1, and so European buyers are reluctant to conclude new purchases of Turkish wire rod
