Today, July 12, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices in the Karabuk region have remained unchanged in the local currency and risen by $6/mt on US dollar basis, while in the rest of the country they have fallen by TRY 20-30/mt in the local currency and have increased by $2-4/mt on US dollar basis, all as compared to Thursday, July 8. The main reasons are the sluggish demand to which currency fluctuations have contributed. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 7,250-7,350/mt or $712-722/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills seem to have maintained their official rebar list prices unchanged. Icdas A.S. has kept its rebar price at $730/mt ex-works as the week begins. In addition, a few mills in the Marmara region are also offering the same price, with a discount of around $5/mt for serious buyers. Size availability is still an issue in this region.
In the Izmir region, most mills have started the week at $720-730/mt ex-works ahead of holidays.
