Turkish rebar spot prices mainly increase as week ends

Today, February 5, spot prices in the Turkish domestic rebar market have mainly increased by TRY 20-100/mt ($7-17/mt), except in the Marmara region where rebar prices have remained unchanged on lira basis while rising by $5/mt on US dollar basis. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are at TRY 4,870-4,900/mt or $584-587/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.

Icdas has kept its rebar price at TRY 5,000/mt ($599/mt) ex-works today, stable on lira basis and up by $5/mt in dollars.

Sources report that Izmir Demir Celik opened its rebar sales at TRY 4,950/mt ($593/mt) ex-works this morning and has closed its sales in the afternoon, after selling some tonnages at TRY 4,900/mt ($587/mt) ex-works.

In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy has also closed its rebar sales at TRY 5,000/mt ($599/mt) ex-works in the afternoon today.

In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. opened its rebar sales at TRY 5,000/mt($599/mt) ex-works this morning and closed them in the afternoon.

Most local rebar buyers are watching the import scrap price trend closely before they decide to make new purchases.

All prices are ex-warehouse and on actual weight basis. Prices on Turkish lira basis include 18 percent VAT, while prices on US dollar basis exclude VAT.
