Today, July 2, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 20-70/mt ($4-9/mt) as compared to yesterday. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 7,180-7,300/mt or $702-714/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are currently offering rebar at around $720/mt ex-works, while a few suppliers are giving aggressive pricing, at $10-15/mt lower, to generate sales. One Marmara-based mill is expected to complete its maintenance works by Monday, July 5.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy has opened its rebar price at TRY 7,300/mt, equal to $714/mt ex-works on US dollar basis at the current exchange rate today.
In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has also opened its rebar sales at TRY 7,300/mt ($714/mt) ex-works. In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt Metallurgy has closed its local rebar sales amid its ongoing export bookings until August 1, as SteelOrbis has mentioned earlier.
