Today, February 11, spot prices in the Turkish domestic rebar market have risen by TRY 40-80/mt ($8-13/mt), amid costlier scrap and currency fluctuations. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are at TRY 4,980-5,030/mt or $601-607/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Icdas kept its rebar price at TRY 4,960/mt ($599/mt) ex-works earlier today and closed its rebar sales in the late afternoon. One Marmara-based mill has closed its rebar sales until Monday, February 15.
Most mills in the Izmir region are offering rebar at TRY 4,990-5,050/mt ($602-610/mt) ex-works today. Sources report that around 10,000 mt of rebar has been traded at TRY 4,970/mt ($600/mt) ex-works in this region today.
In the Iskenderun region, there are rumors of a sale of around 9,000 mt of rebar at TRY 5,000/mt ($604/mt) ex-works early this morning. In addition, around 3,000-4,000 mt of rebar has been traded at TRY 5,030-5,100/mt ($607-616/mt) ex-warehouse without any confirmation by the time of publication.
