Today, February 9, spot prices in the Turkish domestic rebar market have increased by TRY 10-40/mt ($2-6/mt), after some small-tonnage transactions in the local market. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are at TRY 4,910-4,930/mt or $587-589/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Most mills have kept their rebar list prices in the local currency at TRY 5,000 mt ($598/mt) ex-works, including Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) and Yolbulan A.S, with minor changes in prices US dollar basis. Icdas has also kept its rebar price stable at TRY 4,880/mt ($583/mt) in Turkish liras, with a rise of just $1/mt in the dollar price. The producer closed its rebar sales late in the afternoon.
Most local traders are trying to destock small tonnages and some local traders are waiting to gain a clearer picture of the import scrap segment.
