Turkish rebar spot prices almost stable in US dollars

Today, July 14, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices in the local currency have decreased by TRY 30-40/mt, with minor changes seen on US dollar basis, as compared to the beginning of this week, amid silent demand and currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 7,210-7,320/mt or $711-722/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.

Turkish mills are trying to maintain their rebar list prices unchanged due to the coming holiday period. Most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are still offering rebar at $720-730/mt ex-works. The mills are expected to revise their rebar prices after the holiday, with the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment taken into account. The Turkish Central Bank has kept interest rates stable today, and so its decision has noto had a sizeable impact on the local rebar market for now.

All prices are ex-warehouse and on actual weight basis. Prices on Turkish lira basis include 18 percent VAT, while prices on US dollar basis exclude VAT.
