Today, July 16, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices in the local currency have decreased by TRY 10-70/mt, with minor changes seen on US dollar basis, as compared to Wednesday July 14, amid slow trading activity and currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 7,150-7,300/mt or $709-724/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Some local traders are giving aggressive prices in the Iskenderun region to generate sales as they believe rebar prices may be revised downwards after the holiday amid the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment, while local traders in the Marmara region are trying to maintain their rebar prices due to the limited supply in the region.
Most Izmir and Marmara-based mills are currently offering their official rebar prices at $720-730/mt ex-works for now.
