Turkish rebar export prices move up

Demand for Turkish rebar in the international markets have recovered slightly over the past week, though failing to reach lively levels. Some Turkish mills were observed to increase their export rebar offers last week. With others following suit, Turkey’s rebar export offers have reached $450-455/mt FOB. Market sources state that Turkish rebar suppliers are receiving orders from markets such as Israel and Yemen, where they usually conclude sales of small tonnages. As no demand for Turkish rebar is expected in the coming period from the US due to the fifty percent Section 232 tariff and neither from the European Union (EU) amid the upcoming new quotas, some orders received from the EU may be canceled due to lack of quota, market sources report.
