Turkish rebar export prices decrease

Over the past week, demand for Turkish rebar in target export markets has been very slack. Although import scrap prices in Turkey have remained stable, Turkish rebar exporters have decreased their quotations by $5/mt on the upper end and by $10/mt on the lower end week on week to $440-450/mt FOB due to the weakness of steel demand in target markets. Since the quota for rebar imports determined by the European Commission has been exhausted and given the 50 percent duty in the US on imported steel from Turkey, Turkish rebar exporters have failed to receive demand from these regions.
