Turkish rebar producers have made another attempt to increase their export offers for September shipments, following costlier scrap deal prices fixed before the holiday. In addition, the mills are hopeful for a domestic market recovery in August.

Exporters have increased their rebar offers by $10/mt over the past week to $445-450/mt FOB, while some find the $440/mt FOB level also acceptable. A 6,000 mt lot was traded to Israel at $430/mt FOB before the holiday, as SteelOrbis reported earlier.

In the local market, according to market information, around 5,000-10,000 mt were traded in the Izmir region at $445/mt ex-works. The largest rebar producer Icdas today, August 4, increased its price by $15/mt to $450/mt ex-works. Domestic spot rebar prices are ranging within $443-447/mt ex-warehouse.
