Turkish mills reduce wire rod prices for both domestic and export markets

Domestic wire rod prices in Turkey have decreased by $5/mt week on week due to lower import scrap quotations. Currently, the tags for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude 18 per cent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

Moreover, Turkey’s wire rod export prices are standing at $455-465/mt FOB versus $465-470/mt FOB offered last week. Market players indicate that local wire rod buyers are exerting pressure for further decrease.
