Turkish mills decrease their wire rod prices slightly

Official wire rod prices in Turkey have decreased by $5/mt over the past week. Sources report that special discounts are available for serious buyers. Some negotiations are ongoing for October production purchases. One Iskenderun-based mill has closed its wire rod sales until October 12. The producers are mainly quoting for late October-November deliveries.

Most local buyers have been refraining from new purchases due to the constant currency fluctuations and the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment. Some buyers have continued to make their daily purchases in order to maintain their regular operations.

Currently, the local offers for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude 18 percent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.
