Turkish mill Kardemir sells 28,000 mt of wire rod

Today, May 29, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has closed its wire rod sales after selling approximately 28,000 mt.

On May 28, the producer had opened its sales of 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod  at TRY 2,995/mt ($439/mt) ex-works, while opening its sales of 6-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade at TRY 2,950/mt ($433/mt) ex-works.

The sales were supported by the belief that the wire rod market will improve in June and also by good payment terms.

Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.

$1 = TRY 6.81
