Although they have not reflected the rise in import scrap quotations in their prices, Turkish merchant bar producers have continued to receive weak demand from their domestic markets over the past two weeks. Market sources state that Turkish merchant bar producers are focusing on their export markets since they do not expect domestic merchant bar demand to revive in the short term. While the Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate has fluctuated over the past two weeks, prices in Turkey have indicated various declines depending on the regions of the country.
