Turkish merchant bar producers have mostly stop quoting their export offers and are expected to announce their prices next week, as they prefer to monitor the import scrap price trend for now. Only a few equal angle offers were heard earlier this week at $700-720/mt FOB, up by $20/mt from last week for late July-August shipment.

Although the new quota round for Europe begins today, it is expected to be exhausted quickly. Sources report a few inquiries have been received from the US and from African countries.

Turkish merchant bar export prices are currently at the following levels:

Product

Price ($/mt)

Angle

700-720

IPN-UPN

710-730

Flat bar

730-750

IPE

710-730

All prices are on FOB basis and for Late July-August shipment.
