Turkish merchant bar export offers move sideways

Turkey’s merchant bar export prices for July shipments have remained stable during the past week, with angle prices moving sideways in the range of $510-530/mt FOB. However, international buyers’ firm bids, particularly from North Africa, are heard to be at $490-500/mt FOB. SteelOrbis has been informed that Turkish merchant bar producers may reduce their export offers in the coming week amid lower import scrap quotations.

On the other hand, in line with the statistics for the January-May period of this year, Turkish suppliers are still receiving price inquiries for merchant bar from North Africa, the Middle East, Europe, the Far East and South America.
