Turkish local wire rod prices have moved up by $75-100/mt in the last two days, and are mostly for April-May delivery. The key reasons are the higher import scrap and billet prices and rapid currency fluctuations.

One Iskenderun-based mill were raised its official wire rod price by $80/mt to $940/mt ex-works this morning for May delivery and rising by another $20/mt to $960/mt ex-works in the afternoon. Another mill in the region has closed its wire rod sales and expected to announce its wire rod price by tomorrow.
