Turkish domestic wire rod prices stable

Turkish domestic wire rod prices have remained unchanged week on week as most wire rod buyers have been refraining from concluding new purchases ahead of the holidays.

Most suppliers are trying to increase their wire rod prices, while levels around $800/mt ex-works were available from a few producers earlier this week for serious buyers. One Iskenderun-based mill has closed its wire rod sales for now. “The supply is limited in the local market. As a result, wire rod prices in Turkey may gain momentum in the short term,” one source mentioned.

The producers are handling their ongoing shipments and accepting orders for August-September production.

Wire rod prices in the Aegean region have not been revised since Monday, May 31.
