Turkish domestic wire rod prices not changed significantly for now

Local Turkish wire rod prices have remained stable in the Marmara and Izmir regions in the past week, while prices have changed by $5/mt in the other two regions. Most local wire rod buyers are not ready to accept $830/mt ex-works due to the currently weak demand situation and the relative silence in the import scrap segment. However, most Turkish suppliers are trying to maintain their wire rod prices due to ongoing export bookings and limited supply. The gap between Icdas’ rebar and wire rod prices has narrowed from $110/mt to $100/mt this week, while the producer’s official rebar and wire rod  prices are standing at $730/mt ex-works and $830/mt ex-works, respectively. Most Turkish mills are offering wire rod for August delivery, while a few mills have started offering with extended lead times.
