Turkish domestic wire rod prices mainly fall further

Turkey’s official domestic wire rod prices have mainly moved down by $5-15/mt in most regions of the country due to lower demand, currency fluctuations, and uncertainty in the scrap segment. Some mills are offering limited ex-stock lots at higher prices as compared to offers for fresh production.

In the Iskenderun region, local prices, however, have increased by $10/mt, mainly driven by the limited allocation in the region. One mill has stopped quoting wire rod for now, given that it will carry out maintenance works in August.

Most mills in Turkey are offering wire rod for August deliveries.
