Local Turkish wire rod prices have fallen by $5/mt in the Marmara and Thrace regions week on week, while offers in the Izmir region have risen by $10/mt in order to come into line with the general price range seen in the domestic market. In the Iskenderun region, one supplier has opened its official wire rod sales at $750/mt ex-works today. Moreover, another mill in the same region has recently started quoting $785/mt ex-works for late November deliveries.

Most suppliers are offering fresh production for November delivery, while a limited tonnage is still available either from stocks or for late October delivery. “We prefer to buy wire rod according as we sell welded wire mesh, in back-to-back business, due to the lack of clarity in the raw material price trend,” a source told SteelOrbis.
