Today, October 6, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained unchanged in the local currency in the Iskenderun and Marmara regions amid slow trading activity and currency fluctuations, while rising by TRY 50/mt in the rest of the country, compared to beginning of this week. On US dollar basis, all spot rebar prices indicate minor changes. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 15,300-15,800/mt or $697-720/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara-based and Izmir-based mills are offering official rebar prices at $710-715/mt ex-works, including Icdas A.S. today. According to sources, the workable rebar price level varies at $695-710/mt ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 16,250/mt ($741/mt) ex-works at the current exchange rate. Moreover, another re-roller in the region opened its rebar sales at TRY 16,100/mt ($734/mt) ex-warehouse yesterday and closed its rebar sales today.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt Metallurgy has extended the closure of its rebar sales until Monday, October 10. In the Karabuk region, Kardemir’s final rebar sale tonnage was around 27,000 mt at $700/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has heard.
