Today, October 21, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 130-150/mt in the local currency, with just minor changes on US dollar basis, amid rapid currency fluctuations following the Turkish Central Bank’s interest rate cut today. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 8,350/mt or $750/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has closed its rebar sales until tomorrow, while one Marmara-based mill is currently offering rebar at $750/mt ex-works. In addition, another mill in the Izmir region was offering the same price earlier today.
Turkish mills are expected to revise their rebar prices in the short term.
