Today, August 3, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 100-200/mt ($4-9/mt) amid rapid currency fluctuations and firm import scrap prices. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 13,000-13,500/mt or $613-637/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has kept its official rebar price at $630/mt ex-works, while most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are currently offering rebar at $620-640/mt ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, two re-rollers have opened their rebar sales at TRY 13,800/mt ($651/mt) ex-warehouse at the current exchange rate, while one of them closed its rebar sales in the afternoon today.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 14,000/mt ($660/mt) ex-works at the current exchange rate.
Most local traders are optimistic due to the firm import scrap prices and are restocking material.
