Today, April 12, rebar spot prices in Turkey have moved sideways in the local currency, while rising by $3-4/mt on US dollar basis, as compared to the end of last week. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 5,900-5,970/mt or $616-623/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region. Most buyers are maintaining a wait-and-see stance due to Turkish Central Bank’s anticipated interest rate announcement due on Thursday, April 15.
Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions have kept their rebar prices at $620-635/mt ex-works.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt A.S. has opened its rebar sales today at TRY 6,080/mt ($635/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 30/mt ($7/mt) over the same period. In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 6,000/mt ($626/mt) ex-works.
