Today, May 5, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by another TRY 50-100/mt ($5-10/mt), amid stronger scrap prices and mostly full export order books. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 6,650-6,720/mt or $676-683/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara-based mills are currently offering rebar at $680-700/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate.
Izmir Demir Celik(IDC) is currently offering rebar at $690/mt ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy’s rebar sales are still closed. Koc Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 6,800/mt ($691/mt) ex-works today. Moreover, one re-roller in this region has opened its rebar sales at TRY 6,700/mt ($681/mt) ex-warehouse on the same day.
In the Karabuk region Yolbulan A.S. opened its rebar sales at TRY 6,700/mt ($681/mt) ex-works today, closing its rebar sales in the afternoon.
