Today, April 22, Turkish domestic rebar prices have increased by TRY 70-90/mt, with minor changes on US dollar basis to offset currency fluctuations, ahead of the national holiday tomorrow. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 6,040-6,100/mt or $617-624/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara and Izmir-based mills are currently offering rebar at $630-635/mt ex-works with the current exchange rate.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt A.S. hiked its rebar price in the local currency by TRY 100/mt to TRY 6,200/mt ($635/mt) ex-works, when the exchange rate was at $1 = TRY 8.27 earlier today.
In the Iskenderun region, Koc Metallurgy opened its rebar sales at TRY 6,150/mt ($629/mt) ex-works at the current exchange rate. The situation in the local Turkish rebar market is expected to become significantly clearer by the beginning of next week.
