Today, February 25, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained stable in the local currency, while rising by $24-25/mt on US dollar basis against the backdrop of the positive sentiment in the import scrap and billet segments and also the ongoing rapid currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 12,400-12,500/mt or $759-765/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. opened its rebar sales at $740/mt ex-works today and closed them in the afternoon. Most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions were offering earlier today at $750-760/mt ex-works and then closed their rebar sales in the afternoon and are expected to increase their rebar prices at the beginning of next week. Sources report around 30,000 mt, some said around 40,000 mt, of rebar were traded at around $725-730/mt ex-works in the last couple of days in the Izmir region.
