Today, June 21, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen in local currency by TRY 70-140/mt, while falling by $3-8/mt on US dollar basis, amid currency fluctuations and the lack of clarity in the import scrap segment. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 7,350-7,420/mt or $709-716/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its rebar price at $730/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate, up by TRY 95/mt since the end of last week, while the other suppliers are currently offering rebar at $740-750/mt ex-works. Special discounts are applicable due to the rapid currency fluctuations in the country.
According to sources, most Izmir-based mills are offering rebar at $715-720/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate today.
In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has raised its rebar price by TRY 100/mt to TRY 7,450/mt today, equal to $719/mt ex-works on US dollar basis at the current exchange rate.
