Today, April 29, Turkish domestic rebar prices have risen by TRY 20-50/mt with minor changes on US dollar basis, amid currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 6,050-6,120/mt or $621-629/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions started to quote at $630/mt ex-works at the current exhange rate today. One Izmir-based mill closed its rebar sales in the afternoon. Some local traders believe that local rebar prices may gain momentum amid recent rebar export sales and positive sentiment in the import scrap segment.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt A.S. has closed its rebar sales until May 25 today given its mostly filled export order books. In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has also closed its rebar sales today.
