Today, August 8, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 200-400/mt ($9-19/mt) against the backdrop of the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 13,800-14,200/mt or $651-670/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has raised its rebar price by another $20/mt to $670/mt ex-works, as compared to the end of last week. Most mills in the Marmara region are currently offering rebar at $660-680/mt ex-works, while the lower end is valid for serious buyers only. In the Izmir region, the official rebar prices vary at $650-680/mt ex-works, while the workable rebar prices are at $640-670/mt ex-works. Sources report one Izmir-based mill closed its rebar sales today in the afternoon after sellling a small tonnnage of rebar at $640/mt ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 14,400/mt ($679/mt) ex-works at the current exchange rate, while two re-rollers in the region have also offered the same price today.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 14,600/mt ($689/mt) ex-works at the current exchange rate.
