Today, August 18, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 100/mt, while remaining mostly stable on US dollar basis, only falling by $1/mt for one size on the day amid currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 13,600-13,900/mt or $637-651/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions have kept their official rebar prices stable for now following the Turkish Central Bank’s interest rate cut in the afternoon today. Turkish rebar producers are expected to revise their rebar prices tomorrow or by early next week. The official rebar price range still stands at $660-670/mt ex-works in these regions.
