Today, March 30, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained unchanged in the local currency, with minor changes on US dollar basis compared to Tuesday, March 28, amid slow trading activity. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 16,100-16,350/mt or $711-722/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Sources report the workable rebar price range varies at $720-730/mt ex-works in the Marmara and Izmir regions. Kardemir succeeded in selling around 25,000 mt of rebar at $724/mt ex-works earlier today. Most local buyers believe that local rebar prices may decrease further amid the negative sentiment in the import scrap and billet segments, so they are maintaining a wait-and-see stance.
