Today, August 23, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have fallen by TRY 50-100/mt ($2-5/mt) over the day amid the slow trading activity. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 13,450-13,800/mt or $629-645/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Izmir and Marmara region are offering official rebar prices at $660-670/mt ex-works, while additional $10-20/mt is applicable for the serious buyers, SteelOrbis has heard.
In the Iskenderun region, one mill is expected to start its maintenance process for 10-15 days by the beginning of September. Most local traders are applying aggressive pricing to generate cash.
