Today, November 5, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 50-100/mt ($6-11/mt), amid currency fluctuations and firm import scrap prices, only remaining stable on lira basis in the Marmara region, with minor changes on US dollar basis. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 8,400-8,530/mt or $735-746/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
The general official rebar price range is at $740-750/mt ex-works, including the prices of Icdas A.S., at the current exchange rate. Turkish mills are trying to maintain their dollar-based rebar prices unchanged amid higher production costs, while local traders are concluding transactions with each other for required material. Limited availability of sizes is still an issue. The local rebar market is expected to gain clarity by next week.
