Today, October 18, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have mainly increased by TRY 50-100/mt, while only in the Iskenderun region have levels remained stable in the local currency, due to mills’ relatively higher price hikes attempted at the end of last week. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 8,150-8,250/mt or $743-752/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has increased its rebar price by another $10/mt to $740/mt ex-works today, while the other mills in the Marmara region have set their official rebar prices at $755-760/mt, versus $740-750/mt ex-works previously. Most Izmir-based offers are currently standing at $740/mt ex-works.
In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 8,300/mt ($756/mt) ex-works today. Most local traders are monitoring the Turkish Central Bank’s interest rate decision due on Thursday, October 21, and some traders prefer to continue transactions in line with daily needs instead of restocking with high volumes.
As of today, rebar offers in the Turkish spot market are as follows:
