Today,October 4, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 20/mt ($5/mt), while being stable in the local currency and up by $3 on US dollar basis only in the Marmara region, as compared to Thursday, September 30, against the backdrop of currency fluctuations. Most local traders are monitoring recent import scrap deals and waiting for the right time to restock material. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 7,020-7,070/mt or $672-677/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are currently offering rebar at $665-675/mt ex-works today. The suppliers are maintaining their official dollar-based rebar prices stable to avoid currency fluctuation risks for mid-October delivery material. Moreover, rebar size restrictions are another issue due to producers’ ongoing rebar export shipments.
In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 7,070/mt ($677/mt) ex-works today, up by TRY 20/mt ($5/mt).
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt Metallurgy has closed its rebar sales until Monday, October 11.
