Turkish domestic rebar spot prices mostly down slightly in local currency

Today, October 21, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have dropped  by TRY 10-30/mt - while only in the Iskenderun region have rebar prices remained unchanged in local currency as compared to October 19 - with minor changes in prices on US dollar basis, amid exchange rate fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar prices in the overall local Turkish spot market are still at TRY 4,080-4,150/mt ($441-449/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region.

Today, İçdaş has decreased its rebar price by TRY 20/mt at TRY 4,200/mt ($454/mt) ex-works.

Most Turkish mills in Izmir and the Marmara region are currently offering rebar at around TRY 4,160-4,210/mt ($450-455/mt) ex-works. In the Izmir region, Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has changed its pricing policy for 8 mm and 10 mm rebar, starting from Tuesday, October 20. The producer has started adding an extra TRY 50/mt and TRY 75/mt for 10 mm and 8 mm products respectively. Accordingly, while 12-32 mm increases in prices by TRY 100/mt, the 10 mm price will increase by TRY 150/mt and there will be an increase of TRY 175/mt for 8 mm size.

In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S.  has cut its rebar price by TRY 20/mt at TRY 4,160/mt ($450/mt) ex-works

In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt A.S. has also decreased its rebar prices by TRY 20/mt at TRY 4,200/mt ($454/mt) ex-works.

All prices are ex-warehouse and on actual weight basis. Prices on Turkish lira basis include 18 percent VAT, while prices on US dollar basis exclude VAT.
