Today, May 7, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 40-70/mt ($11-14/mt), amid stronger scrap prices. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 6,850-6,900/mt or $703-708/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Local rebar demand is silent as Ramadan continues. Most buyers are in wait-and-see mode.
Icdas has kept its rebar price at $700/mt ex-works today at the current exchange rate. Moreover, most Marmara-based mills are currently offering rebar at $710-715/mt ex-works.
Most Izmir-based mills are offering rebar at $700/mt ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy closed its rebar sales earlier today and then opened its rebar sales at TRY 7,000/mt ($718/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 120/mt ($19/mt) on the day.
In the Karabuk region Yolbulan A.S.’s rebar sales are still closed.
