Today, March 29, rebar spot prices in Turkey have risen by TRY 230-270/mt ($10-14/mt), as compared to Thursday, March 25. The key factor is the unstable exchange rate and the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment. The exchange rate was at $1 = TRY 8.09 this morning, while it stands at $1 = TRY 8.20 for now. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 5,770-5,850/mt or $596-605/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its rebar price at $620/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate, stable on US dollar basis. Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are currently offering rebar list prices at $620-630/mt ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, one re-roller has opened its rebar sales at $610/mt ex-warehouse at the current exchange rate.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt A.S. has opened its rebar sales at $620/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate.
