Today, October 8, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 70-120/mt ($3-9/mt), amid currency fluctuations and the positive sentiment in the import scrap and billet segments. Most Turkish producers and local traders have closed their rebar sales in the afternoon and are expected to adjust their rebar prices upwards by the beginning of the next week. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 7,300/mt or $694/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions have kept their official rebar prices at $680-690/mt ex-works. Most local traders are testing higher rebar prices than producers’ official rebar offers to avoid any price increase risk as deliveries are mostly for the second half of October.
In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 7,275/mt ($692/mt) ex-works.
