Today, February 23, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 20-100/mt ($2-7/mt) against the backdrop of currency fluctuations. Moreover, rebar spot prices in the Izmir region have increased more than in the other regions given the limited supply in the region. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 11,800-12,000/mt or $723-735/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has kept its rebar price at $740/mt ex-works. Moreover, most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are currently offering rebar at $740-750/mt ex-works. Most local traders are refraining from new purchases amid the rapid currency fluctuations and uncertain financial situation in the country, while also influenced by the silence in the import scrap segment.
