Today, May 4, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 30-60/mt ($1-4/mt), amid stronger scrap prices and Turkish mills’ attempts to increase their local rebar prices further. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 6,550-6,630/mt or $666-675/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara-based mills are currently offering rebar today at $670-685/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate.
Most Izmir-based mills are currently offering rebar at $675-680/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate, while Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) closed its rebar sales in the afternoon. In addition, Izmir Demir celik(IDC) has revised its additional cost extras for 8 mm and 10 mm sizes to TRY 85/mt and TRY 60/mt, respectively, valid from Monday, May 3, up by TRY 10/mt compared to its previous pricing.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy closed its rebar sales today.
In the Karabuk region Yolbulan A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 6,700/mt ($682/mt) ex-works today.
According to sources, Kardemir is expected to open its rebar and wire rod sales soon.
