Today, August 5, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 300-500/mt ($14-24/mt) amid the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment and relatively livelier demand. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 13,500-14,000/mt or $637-660/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas A.S. has increased its rebar price by $20/mt to $650/mt ex-works and most Marmara-based mills are also offering rebar at the same level today. Sources report one Marmara-based mill increased its official rebar price by $5/mt to $655/mt ex-works in the afternoon. In the Izmir region, around 30,000 mt of rebar has been traded at $630/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has heard.
In the Samsun region, Yesilyurt Metallurgy has closed its rebar sales until Monday, August 8, while another mill in the Iskenderun region has also closed its rebar prices over the same period, after selling a small tonnage of rebar at TRY 13,800/mt ($651/mt) ex-works at the current exchange rate.
